I made a word cloud based on water in reading. These words all have something to do with water.

 Last week we learnt about the water cycle. Ee then paired with a buddy ( I was with Cazna) we  got a bag each and we drew a cloud in one corner and the sun in another (the opposite corner) and then we drew a squiggly line at the bottom acting as the sea. We then filled the bag up with water up to the squiggly line. We also got blue food colouring and coloured the water blue! Then we taped the bag to a sunny window. Then the next day we checked the bags and it... worked!   The water evaporated and condensation and then it precipitated!  Evaporation - the sun shines on the water and the water turns  into invisible  gas. Condensation - The gas rises up to the sky where it is colder and the gas turns into clouds. Precipitation - then the gas turns into droplets and when the droplets get too heavy it starts to... rain! ( it can be snow and hail) Collection - and then it goes over and over again...

Me doing hokey This term we are doing Hockey. I love doing hockey because I love to do active things and to learn new things. My favioute part is when we get to pass the ball to each other. Do you know how to play hockey? 

Today, I was a teacher and I taught my dad about Ramadan. I taught about Ramadan because I am moving to the U.A.E and I am interested about the Muslim culture. Ramadan is when Muslims pray seven times a day and fast (don't eat until night fall for 30 days). At the end of Ramadan, Muslims celebrate fasting for 30 days with a spectacular party, called Eid. Muslims also get to see their family too and at Eid there is lots and lots of food, including all of their favourite dishes.  This year, the Muslims won't be able to have big Eid parties because of Covid-19, but I hope they will be able to still celebrate.  

  Isolation Olympics Today we did our own Isolation Olympics. We started with our opening ceremony, then we ran laps with the Olympic Torch (which we made from toilet roll holders) as if it were a relay race. We did the toilet roll waddle, running with a toilet roll in between our knees to put the toilet roll in a box without our hands. We also tried to throw the  toilet roll into the box as if it were a basket ball. Finally, we then got a bat and tried to hit the toilet roll into the box like it was golf and when I scored, I did a victory dance! Manaakitanga On Monday the 4th May it was my mum's birthday. Me and my mum! I secretly planned a surprise party for her with Dad and Henry.   We arranged food, decorations, drinks and music.  I even planned a special presentation where we said what we each loved about Mum.  This is my presentation: What we love about Mum Mum looked so surprised when we shouted Surprise! I felt so happy and proud after the party. I would love to plan a another surprise with and for my family for example when it is my Dads birthday Mum, Henry and I would probably plan a party for him. We would have all of Dads favourite songs on and we will have a family game.

I went around my house today and looked for lots of stuff so that I could do an alphabet list of things around my house.  For each letter, here is one thing:  Here I am, Elizabeth wearing my Taonga! Today I made a obstacle course using 1. 2 boxes 2. coffee table  3. chair 4. stool  5. string of wool 6. cushion 7. dining table  It took me 1:12 because I kept on wobbling.  Henry did it in  40 seconds. I enjoyed doing this because it felt different and fun.

 This is the Kitchen Monster  the Kitchen monster is made out of    * 2 cans for eyes  * buttons for eye pupils  * a tape measure for hair  * serving spoons for legs  * forks for arms and  * cup cake holders for a mouth * last of all a cake storage box for a face.  Now the Kitchen monster is the night protector of the Kitchen when all the Kitchen utensils come to life! The Kitchen monster makes sure that the spoons, forks and knives don't leave the kitchen. At dawn the k itchen  utensil s go to where they live and the Kitchen monster hides for he cannot be seen.

                                   Malala  I drew Malala. Malala is a Muslim who believed that girls should be treated no different than boys and girls should be able to go to school and get an  education. Malala is brave, courageous and not afraid to stand up to others.

Hi,  Today my brother, dad, and mum did some upcycling and we made two shell pen pots. It was so fun! We used shells,a glue-gun and 2 baked bean cans. We used our glue-gun to stick the shells on the cans. I loved my pen pot when it was done because it reminded me of the sea. If I had more time and resources I'm sure I could be more creative. I would probably make a clay family tree for the garden and I would decorate it with real leaves which I would stick in the clay.

Today I drew a family portrait of my family.       My Dad's name is David Smith. My Mum's name is Lorna Smith. My little brother's name is Henry Smith. My name is Elizabeth Smith. and we are the proud Smith family!!!!!  I chose the patterns in the names on the picture because they are Mum Dad and Henry's favourite patterns.   I chose the dress mum is wearing because it is one of my Mum's  dresses in her wardrobe and favourites.  I love this picture because it represents the people I love most in the world!

Today my brother and I made a tower out of... 8  boxes  a kiwi teddy  and ribbon. To hold it together we tied the boxes together using ribbon and tape and then we decorated it. We found loads of cool and pretty stuff in the art cupboard. It measures 228 cm. I was really excited at first but at the balancing part I was nervous because I was worried it might fall over.  It has been there for around a week now and it hasn't fallen yet! 

'ahlaan bik to 2020! ( Welcome to 2020 in arabic) He Puna Kawenga is doing 3 football sessions.  I am loving it!!! 

Hi!!! This is week 6 and He Puna Kawenga have been going to  Life Education (Harold) and we have been learning about online safety one of the biggest rules are:  1. Never go on a game with a restricted age that is not your age.   2. Never use your real name as your user name on games  3. Don't give other people your personal information like your Age, School, Name, phone number or Address EVER!!

Hi this is Elizabeth here, my biggest proud moment is  becoming a big sister. At first I was scared and I had a problem showing it. I was scared I would be a bad role-model! but I was wrong. My mum and dad tell me over and over that I am a great role-model especially for Henry. You are probably wondering who was my role-model and who brought out the best in me it was...Bella my dog you see those photos of a dog? Yep they are photos of Bella. Bella was my first pet in the world. She was super  she had the power to make me feel like the luckiest girl in the whole universe.

On Monday when I got to Room 6 there was a sign saying Entrance closed! Please use back door. Some people tried to use the front door! Then when I entered, (using the back door), the carpet was wet! Because there was a flood. Then Mrs Wilton-Scott asked me to get the microphone and I had to walk on the wet floor to get it. A little while later the bell rung and the class raced to sit on the mat. We did roll, notices, waiata, ruruku and then a man came in with a hoover and started to vacuum (it was very loud and noisy). We did fitness out on the Astroturf, then the man brought in a fan to help dry the carpet. At morning tea we went to eat out side in front of the classroom, so we could put on the fan (we left the doors and windows open.)                                                                 ...
